Review: More Than Comics by Elizabeth Briggs

Review: This was one of those books that I found still available on NetGalley months after its release, so it was a nice book I could take my time through and pick up between books with tight deadlines. I felt like I really took my time reading it more than I usually do, which had both its pros and its cons. I felt like I retained it all short-term more than I would have (not needing to reread paragraphs twice in a row or anything) otherwise. But I also don’t remember my initial reactions to the book as much as […]

Review: Dark Wild Night by Christina Lauren

Review: As much as I loved the rest of the series so far, Dark Wild Night is definitely my favorite so far. I find it kind of funny that: Book #3 was my favorite (so far, at least) for both Wild Seasons and the Beautiful series. Book #3 of each series featured “nerd love” couples. Book #3 of each series featured girls I could relate to. (Although I still find it creepy how much I have in common with Hanna!) And even before I made those connections, one of the reasons I loved this book more than the others was that the love […]

Review: Playing for Her Heart by Megan Erickson

Review: Ackgh. Megan Erickson + nerd love = fan girl nerd love. Try saying that five times fast, because I’ve been trying for 10 minutes and haven’t been able to yet. Is it the wine? Well, that is a distinct possibility. Just so much of this book made me go haaaaay. First off, it is genuine nerd love. We’re not talking about a shy girl with glasses. We’re talking about cosplaying coders and writers. If you can get on that level, let’s hang out. I’ll bring my TARDIS onesie, you bring your Dalek (just kidding – don’t you dare bring that […]

Review: Changing His Game by Megan Erickson

Review: Ug, Austin! I think it’s so appropriate that Austin’s name kind of, sort of rhymes with the sound ya make when you just let out all the feels. Unghhhh. So, the backstory: I met Megan Erickson at ApollyCon and she was telling me about this book. I saw the cover and was just kind of hypnotized by it. She was *so* excited about this book that it was completely contagious. I couldn’t wait to read it! I had to take a 5-minute break from my email to do a happy dance when I got an ARC for it. I […]

#ThrowbackThursday Review: Love Hacked by Penny Reid

Welcome to #TBT week 3! This will also be the last Penny Reid week, sadly, because I already review Neanderthal Marries Human so I’m kind of out of books of hers to throw back to. Soooo, who wants to suggest what I should throw back to next? Send me a tweet at @bookbumblings! And now, I present to you, Love Hacked. Love, and hacking. What a great combination for a geek like me! My Original Goodreads Review: I equally want to be best friends with Penny and all of the characters she writes. I’m also seeing a weird trend where […]
