#BookBlogWriMo Day 21 – My First Reviews

Welcome to day 21 of #BookBlogWriMo! It’s another flashback day, with the them of reviews this time. Gah! I’m so sick of being sick. It’s even more annoying now that I’m on antibiotics but they haven’t started working yet. I’ve just laid in the dark all day and watched Audrey Hepburn movies waiting for the headache and sore throat to pass. Even the light of my laptop is awful on this headache, and it’s on the lowest brightness setting. But I’m trying to stay ahead of my #BookBlogWriMo posts, so here’s today’s.

#BookBlogWriMo Day 15 – Best Things About Book Blogging

Welcome to day 15 (woot! woot! halfway there!) of #BookBlogWriMo! Today we’re talking about the good stuff that comes with book blogging. Talking with authors and blog redesigning. Talking with authors and going to signings. Silver white winters that melt into spring…these are a few of my favorite things! I had to. You should know by now that when I see an opportunity to sing (er…type) a showtune, I take it. So this post is coming pretty late…actually, it might technically be the 16th by the time I finish this. I’ve been fighting with Dominos pizza for hours about my […]

#BookBlogWriMo Day 13 – My Review Process

Welcome to day 13 of #BookBlogWriMo! Today we’re talking reviews. Hey y’all (even though I have no twang and could never pull off saying “y’all,” I sure love typing it)! Since I already went over my review process pretty well in my blogging workflow post, today might be kind of boring if you’ve been keeping up with #BookBlogWriMo. Oops!

#BookBlogWriMo Day 12 – Advice for Newbie Bloggers

Welcome to day 12 of #BookBlogWriMo! Today, we’re helping out the newbies. So, I don’t want to go into too much detail on this one because if I had the time, I could just go on and on until November and #BookBlogWriMo are over. But, hey, that’s why I post blogging advice every week. That’s another reason I don’t want to go into too much detail – a lot of the stuff I’m covering is taken from drafts of future Bumblings Blog Tips, but I don’t want to pilfer too much content from future posts.

#BookBlogWriMo Day 11 – #Top10Tuesday – Most Popular Posts

#BookBlogWriMo Day 11 – #Top10Tuesday – Most Popular Posts

Welcome to day 11 of #BookBlogWriMo! Today, we’re participating in our own version of #Top10Tuesday. Knowing a blog’s most popular posts is pretty similar to knowing the blog’s best posts, at least in the eyes of its readers. That’s valuable information to any blogger. It can help guide future post ideas, and figure out what works and what doesn’t, both in terms of content and promotion. That’s why stats matter to me: not to gauge success, but to guide direction. I blog to make myself happy, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to help other people in the process. […]

#BookBlogWriMo Day 10 – Memes I Meme

Welcome to day 10 of #BookBlogWriMo! Today we’re talking memes (and pronouncing it “meem”). First, I really want to sing this, so let’s get it out of the way early… “I memed a meme of times gone byyyyy…when posts were fun and blogs worth bloggingggggg…” Okay, now let’s get down to business. I love memes, but actually don’t do a lot of them on the blog (yet). So today will a short post, which I’m definitely looking forward to after Saturday’s and Sunday’s posts took hours each. 🙂

#BookBlogWriMo Day 9 – My Blogging Workflow

Welcome to day 9 of #BookBlogWriMo! Today we’re talkin’ bout that #blogflow. So if you can’t already tell from some of my other #BookBlogWriMo and Bumblings Blog Tips posts, I’m a bit of an organizational and productivity nerd. Actually, a bit of a nerd in general, but this is neither the time nor place to talk about the TARDIS onesie I’m currently wearing. But yeah, I love coming up with anal retentive workflows and systems when it comes to my book blog, even though I try not too treat it too much like a job or business instead of a […]

#BookBlogWriMo Day 8 – My Blogging Toolkit

Welcome to day 8 of #BookBlogWriMo! Today, we’re talking about one of my favorite subjects: blogging tools. It’s also doubling as an edition of Bumblings Blog Tips. 🙂 I made it through the first week of #BookBlogWriMo! Unexpected stuff at work made it more difficult than I thought it would be, but what a thrill! Seeing you all so excited about this makes the craziness of organizing the challenge, maintaining it, and participating in it worthwhile! And what better way to celebrate one week in than talking about blogging smarter? One of my favorite things is finding ways to get more […]

#BookBlogWriMo Day 7 – #FlashbackFriday – My Blog’s First Design

Welcome to day 7 of #BookBlogWriMo! Today we’re doing a flashback to the beginning of Book Bumblings. Since my blog has only been around since June, it hasn’t gone through many redesigns. That says a lot, since I love tinkering with website design and am always trying to freshen up my coding skills. It’s crazy how quickly you can forget what you know. Here’s Book Bumblings’ design evolution:
