#BookBlogWriMo Day 19 – TBR Books

Posted 20 November, 2014 in Features / 1 Comment

Sorry this #BookBlogWriMo post is late, but I’m super sick :(. But today, we’re talking about our TBR shelves.

Hola, hola, hola! Today we’re doing our own version of #WaitingOnWednesday. I have a TBR shelf on Goodreads that quite literally is hundreds of books long. I mean, I know I’ve read some of them and have just forgotten to update their status, but there’s still at least 200 books on there that I haven’t read yet.

Some I own but haven’t gotten to, some are old books I haven’t gotten around to buying, and a small portion of them are books that haven’t come out yet. Since those are the most exciting to think about (release day, woo woo!), I’m gonna focus on those.

Once a month I go through the “New Releases By Authors You’ve Read” page on Goodreads and update my Google calendar of new releases I want to read, and make sure they’re on my TBR shelf. Here are the December books I’m excited for:

That Man 5 by Nelle L’Amour

Fun story – this series was the first time I ever read an ARC! I wasn’t a blogger yet, but really active on Goodreads and met Nelle that way. I just signed up for the tour for this one and feel like I’ve come full circle! Also exciting to see this great series conclude.

A life-threatening accident.

A dark secret.

The wedding planner from Hell.

A jealous ex.

And the unexpected.

Will Blake and his tiger tie the knot—or not?

Find out in this gripping, epic conclusion to the bestselling THAT MAN series. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and swoon!

You Were Mine by Abbi Glines

Eeek! Poor Bethy. I’ve loved her since the first time I “visited” Rosemary Beach and have hated seeing her so broken in the most recent books in the series. I just really want her to be happy and think we’re about to see that.

you were mine book cover About:

From #1 “New York Times “bestselling author Abbi Glines comes a brand-new Rosemary Beach novel about Tripp Newark and his hidden romantic past with Bethy Lowry.

In the eyes of the wealthy playboys who frequent Kerrington Country Club in Rosemary Beach, Tripp Newark is a hero. Under pressure from his parents to become a lawyer and lead a conservative, upper-class life, Tripp disappeared from town five years ago to travel the world, forfeiting the opportunity to inherit millions. Yet few know what he was really running from…

Bethy Lowry was unraveling long before her boyfriend drowned in a riptide trying to save her after she’d had one too many drinks–again. A trailer park kid working as a cart girl among the wealthy patrons of Kerrington Country Club, Bethy has always been impressionable. But five years ago, before she earned her reputation as a hard-drinking, easy girl, she had spent a single summer with Tripp Newark that changed her life forever…

Forever with Me by Kristen Proby

Love, love, love the With me in Seattle books. Even though I haven’t read them all, or read them in order, I’m so sad to see the series ending. I’m hoping to read all the books in the series that I haven’t yet over Thanksgiving break (won’t be a problem if I’m still too sick to get out of bed). That way I can devour this puppy on release day.

forever with me in seattle

From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the With Me in Seattle Series comes the end of a saga…

Dominic Salvatore seemingly has everything a man could want. He’s found a new relationship with his father and the entire Montgomery family. His vineyard, Cuppa di Vita, is a success. There’s only one thing that eludes him: a certain driven, intelligent, and sexy as hell blonde named Alecia.

Alecia works tirelessly building her event planning business. It’s the most important part of her life. Despite the beautiful, lavish weddings she organizes, Alecia is convinced that the idea of true love is a myth. While Dominic is a sexy, intriguing man, welcoming the handsome Italian into her bed, and her life, is a risk she’s not so sure she’s willing to take.

However Dominic isn’t used to taking no for an answer, and it’s not long before these two are burning up the sheets and discovering a connection that neither can deny. But will it be strong enough to last forever?

“I’m going to eventually make you understand how amazing you are, tesoro.” – Dominic Salvatore

Mai Tai’d Up by Alice Clayton

God, I love Alice Clayton. The bitch gives good banter (bitch being used as the highest compliment here). I’m also sad about this book coming out since it’s the last book in one of my all-time, forever and ever amen, favorite contemporary romance series.

Looking for the perfect mix of smart, sexy, and sassy? Mai Tai’d Up continues New York Times bestselling author Alice Clayton’s Cocktail series, which began with Wallbanger and continued with Rusty Nailed and Screwdrivered.

The gossip mill in the seaside community of Monterey is churning about Chloe Patterson, the newcomer who is starting a sanctuary for rescued pit bulls. It’s rumored that she’s a former beauty queen (true) who ditched her fiancé the morning of their wedding (also true). And that while she’s not looking for a new man, the good-looking local veterinarian has his eye on her. Absolutely, positively true.

When Lucas Campbell isn’t at the family veterinary clinic, he’s paddle boarding in Monterey Bay. Recently single, he’s definitely not in the market for a new relationship, but he still can’t resist taking a second, third, and fourth look at the recent arrival of Miss Golden State.

Neither Lucas nor Chloe has any interest in being tied down. Being tied up, however—now there’s a thought. But are a few Mai Tais, a moonlit night, and the music of Frank Sinatra enough to allow them both to forget their past? Let’s hope Ol’ Blue Eyes knows what he’s doing.

Mix one part tiki, one part kinky, and a splash of old black magic matchmaking, and it’s time to be . . . Mai Tai’d Up.

So, yeah, those are the upcoming books that I’m MOST excited about. What are you bouncing in your seat for?
