Review: Coming Clean by C.L. Parker

Review: This is going to be a complicated one. I thought this book was very well done, but damn was it a downer for me. Let’s get into it. First,¬†you guys know that if a book is done well as the end of a series, I’m not going to like it. It’s documented in lots of other book #3 reviews around the blog. I’m a brat and I don’t like endings. If an author wraps up a series well, I’m not going to take it well. It’s basically a fact at this point. Secondly, it pulled a fucking Parks and […]

Review: What You Need by Lorelei James

Review: Loooove! I have quite a few Lorelei James books in my folder of books picked up while they were free or on sale, but I don’t think I had actually read anything by her before. This was just something that made me make grabby hands at my NetGalley dashboard reading the description, and I knew I wanted to read it now versus adding another book to that folder. This book was hot. I mean, the books I review here always are, so it’s not something I even mention most of the time. But this was one of the rare […]

Review: Hard Beat by K. Bromberg

Review: So, I didn’t quite remember Tanner at first – even when he mentioned his sister once or twice. Then the third time or so, he mentioned his sister by name, and that’s when I put it together. But by his first trip up to the rooftop, I didn’t really care who he was. ūüėõ What I loved most about Hard Beat: the location. How many contemporary romances have you read lately that take place in the Middle East? Not your average beach area, small rural town, or big city that most contemporary and new adult books are located in. […]

Review: Friction by Sawyer Bennett

Oh man. I’ve finally decided the best way to describe Sawyer Bennett. She’s doing to careers in law what Shonda Rhimes did to careers in hospitals in 2005: made them seem damn sexy.¬†(Although Shonda’s shift towards “fixing” and getting away with murder makes me think maybe these things are sexy?) . @BennettBooks is like the Shonda Rhimes of making the law sexy. Click To Tweet Like seriously? They both have the “sex everywhere around the office as if it’s just watercooler chat” vibes going for them. Who else was¬†really intrigued by those smoke-filled walls? Although I have to wonder if […]

Review: Ryker by Sawyer Bennett

Review: So, I feel like we knew more about Ryker going into his book than we did for any of the other guys. Alex¬†kind of focused more on Sutton’s friends, than Alex’s, so we didn’t know much about Garrett or Zack from that book. And in those two, you just find out bits and pieces for the most part. But since Zack and Ryker had that pretty deep heart-to-heart in book #3, you know about Ryker before his book. And I think that really helped establish the connection. We were already invested in him from page 1. (And if I […]
