Review: Free Me by Laurelin Paige [Audiobook]

My Review: God, I loved this book. I read it as soon as it came out but never got around to writing a review. So I jumped at the opportunity to review the audiobook. I was nervous about it at first: I haven’t gotten a chance to start this yet, but we know I’m a big fan of Laurelin Paige, and the series is definitely intriguing. Readers of The Fixed Trilogy can assume that this story? It doesn’t end well. As a lover of happily ever after, hopeless practical romantic, and general sap, it makes me nervous to read a […]

Review: After Dark by M. Pierce

Review: After Dark by M. Pierce

My Review: My favorite thing about the Night Owl trilogy is that it really takes me out of my comfort zone. The sex scenes are very different from what I usually read in my romantic comedies and new adults. It’s intense and humiliating enough that I’m uncomfortable, but right at that edge where the discomfort actually makes the book more enjoyable. I was honestly getting so sick of Hannah and Matt’s relationship in Last Light. It was just so exhausting. For two people that are so introverted in the “outside” world, they sure are high maintenance with each other. And […]

Review: Shaken, Not Stirred by Sawyer Bennett

Review: God, I’m at the point where I feel like I’ve read enough of Sawyer Bennett’s books to say she’s my bestie. No, that’s not weird at all. Maybe, since besties should have read all of the other bestie’s books, and I’m making my way through Bennett’s catalog very slowly. But I’ve read like 4 or 5 books and I’m so in love with her writing style. It’s similar to Lauren Blakely‘s in that the talk, even when it’s not really dirty talk, just feels dirty. And I fucking love it. The writing is hot and funny and even the tame […]

Review: One Night Unveiled by Jodi Ellen Malpas

My Review: I loved the first book in this series. The intrigue. The chemistry. The chase. The surrender. The second book, not so much. I actually kind of hated it. Just because it seemed kind of pointless. A lot of stuff kept happening, but the overall storyline was kind of in the same spot at the end as it was in the beginning. It just seemed like pages of unnecessary drama and fighting between Livy and Miller. They were also starting to remind me too much of Jesse and Ava. I love Jesse and Ava, but wasn’t looking to read more […]

Review: Where the Road Takes Me by Jay McLean

Review: Where the Road Takes Me by Jay McLean

My Review: Oh, I was actually kind of nervous starting this. I loved the cover (a lot), I loved the blurb, I wanted it to be good. But I’ve been in a huge new adult slump for awhile, as seen most recently here. Especially once I realized that the characters were so young, they were still in high school. But once I started it, I was hooked. Like, stay up way later than was healthy to keep reading. And then wake up earlier than was necessary to finish it. Being so exhausted that you have to take a nap on […]

Review: Chasing Desire by Joya Ryan

View the entire tour schedule My Review: Oh, Brazen Entangled books. They never disappoint. They are always so. damn. hot. I haven’t read the other books in this series, but I like that it didn’t matter. Sometimes a book is technically a standalone, but there’s too much you won’t understand if you haven’t read the rest of the series. So this book really could be read as a standalone. Huck was your perfect hero. He had a decent-sized chip on his shoulder, and was gorgeous, but then he also has this great respect and relationship with his dad. I can imagine in […]

Review: Too Hot to Handle by Katie Rose

Review: Too Hot to Handle by Katie Rose

My Review: This was definitely hot. The title doesn’t lie. Normally this kind of book title wouldn’t impress me, make me cautiously skeptical. So honestly, even though the book description and cover sounded great, I wasn’t expecting a whole lot going in. To say I was pleasantly surprise would be an understatement. I basically devoured this book. As in, silence my phone (I work in PR & marketing. It takes a lot for me to silence my phone.), completely ignore my boyfriend, roommate, and family, until this book is done, devoured. The chemistry between Jake and Nikki was insane, and Katie Rose […]

Review: Wallbanger by Alice Clayton [Audiobook]

My Review: Squee! My first audiobook review! I kind of don’t like that it’s for Wallbanger, because the overall rating would absolutely be 5 stars if I wasn’t incorporating the audiobook into the rating (more on that later). Just for fun, I thought I’d include my original Goodreads review from way back in 2012: “I could not stop grinning and laughing out loud while reading this book. Caroline is a hilarious protagonist whose language and sense of humor reminded me of so many millennials in their 20s. The witty banter/flirting-but-not-flirting between Caroline and Simon was adorable and actual LOL-inducing. Great, […]

Review: A Second Chance at Paris by Cole McCade

Review: A Second Chance at Paris by Cole McCade

My Review: This was a really fun read. As we all know, I love nerd romances! It was a lot shorter than I expected, because it ended at like 52% and included the second book in the series (it was a nice surprise to read that, but I wish the first book was longer!). I think it was a great story of maturity and second chances. Celeste was this strong, bold woman who was the complete opposite in high school, to the point that her reality of high school was crazy skewed. My favorite part of the book wasn’t even […]

Review: For Valentine’s by Kat & Stone Bastion

Review: This was a cute and short story. I saw a few other reviews refer to it as an extended epilogue, and I think that’s the best way to describe it. I thought it was really cute how they were going all out for Valentine’s Day, since Cade and Hannah both have such bad memories from the holiday. I’ve found that I always feel like these extended epilogue novellas fall a tad bit short with me, and that was the case here as well. It’s just always kind of awkward feeling to me. The story has been wrapped up, but […]
