About Her Forever Hero:Growing up in a big adoptive family, gorgeous small-town attorney Cam has always had a life rich with love. But the one thing he’s missing is the perfect woman to grow old and raise a family with—and send sparks flying on those cold Montana nights!
Still, Cam knows if it wasn’t for his caring parents and brothers, he wouldn’t be where he is today, so he tries to pay it forward whenever he can. And if the client happens to be a modern-day damsel in distress, he’ll happily don a suit of shining armor.
This time, his sister-in-law’s best friend Grace is in serious trouble, and Cam’s determined to get his smart, beautiful client off the hook. But as attorney-client privilege brings Cam and Grace closer than they ever imagined, the sexual tension heats up.
It’s clear before the gavel comes down that the verdict is going to be red hot.
This book started off ‘meh’ for me but ended with a bang.
I think it was just all the jumping around at the beginning to get us caught up to speed on Cam and Grace’s relationship since she moved back to town.
(PS – it’s def more of a second-chance romance than it seems from the blurb, which I loved. You know I’m a sucker for those.)
Once Cam and Grace started spending more time together and the stakes everywhere got a little higher, I got really sucked in. Stayed up til 5 am last night finishing it, actually. 😛
I’m not a huge fan of the kind of dramatic climax this book uses, but it’s also hard to avoid in romance, so it’s not something I mind all that much.
I loved peeling back the layers on Cam and Grace’s past. Again, sucker for a second-chance romance here. The back-and-forth chase, where they were both doing the chasing at different times, kept things interesting, too.
Grace got a little annoying at times with the way she dealt with things she didn’t like, especially the legal issues mentioned in the blurb (that’s not how the law works…you’ll see).
Martin, and Cam’s whole family, was freaking adorable, which has me interested in the series as a whole.
Overall, it was fun and light, although probably not something that will stand out to me a few months from now. I will be going back and reading the other books in the series though. 🙂
