Review: Wicked Sexy Liar by Christina Lauren

Review: I’m really excited because the best way to describe how I feel about this book in relation to the rest of the Wild Seasons series works best as a Beyonce metaphor. I’m a card-carrying member of the #BeyHive. And when it comes to the Queen’s music, I’m all about the dance hits – Get Me Bodied, 7/11, etc. – that I can dance around and do booty pops and hair flips to. They’re fun and light, and that’s why I love them. But then I also love songs like Listen and Blue for the exact opposite reason. They’re heavy and […]

Review: Getting Rough by C.L. Parker

Review: The 2 most important things about this book: There’s another cliffhanger at the end, and it’s just as painful / frustrating as the last one. There’s also a Grease reference, which makes everything okay, because Grease is the word. So yeah. Authors, if you’re going to give me a cliffhanger, peppering it with showtune lyrics will make me not care. (Although it did stir up some of the nerves I have about this weekend’s Grease Live – I want it to be good! But what if it isn’t?) You know how some people say to deliver bad news with […]

The Weekly Write-Up: Get Shit Done, Bloggiesta-style

The Weekly Write-Up is where I talk about what’s gone on in the past 168 hours, both on the blog and off. Jump to: It’s My Life On the Blog Bloggiesta Wrap-Up Book Bumblings It’s My Life I was incredibly busy with my business this past week, and it was awesome. 🙂 I worked on 2 freelance posts and pitched ideas for a few more that feel like they’re going to be really excited to write. Totally loving freelancing and being able to write about entertainment one day, finance the next, and marketing over the weekend. Over the weekend, I […]

Review: Appealed by Emma Chase

Review: We all know I love friends becoming lovers, girls/boys next door included, and this was an interesting twist on that. While Kennedy and Brent were friends at one point, they sure aren’t when they get together in the book. Childhood friends who grew apart in a painful way means lots of hurt that hasn’t been addressed, because the relationship ended when it happened. So I think this type of story has more of a backstory than most “friends with benefits”-type books that I liked watching play out. And I related to Kennedy’s side of that backstory so hard. I was that […]

Stay Organized as Hell with Blogging Checklists

This is a mini-challenge for the Winter 2016 Bloggiesta. Get more info and sign up for the challenge here. I love lists so much, that I could easily make a very long list of why I love lists. In fact, I’ve already made that list. When I was 12. Organization in general makes my freak flag fly. While my friends were playing basketball during recess in middle school, I was on the sidelines organizing their binders and completing the lists in their student planners for them based on the classes we shared. Do I realize now they were happily walking all […]

Review: The Score by Elle Kennedy

Review: Once again, I really, really, really need to thank Cora Carmack and her Facebook groups for making me feel FOMO about this series. Best peer pressuring, ever. My life motto is pretty much anything the Gilmore Girls have ever said, and they’ve said a lot about the joys of talking fast and not being serious. They showed even more benefits to fast-talking banter and witty repartee. So my life motto is pretty much “Live Gilmore.” And the characters in the Off-Campus series, even the guys, live like Gilmores. This style of writing and dialogue is what I love, because it’s […]

The Weekly Write-Up: Back to the Grindstone (Plus Bloggiesta)

The Weekly Write-Up is where I talk about what’s gone on in the past 168 hours, both on the blog and off. Jump to: It’s My Life Bloggiesta To-Do List On the Blog Links I Lurve It’s My Life I’ve been so…not me lately. Remember I mentioned in the last recap that my boyfriend and I were thinking about a last-minute trip to San Diego, but it probably wouldn’t happen? It actually did! Monday night, we booked a trip starting Wednesday. I think that’s the most spontaneous thing either of us have ever done. I mean, crossing time zones? Layovers? […]

Review: What You Need by Lorelei James

Review: Loooove! I have quite a few Lorelei James books in my folder of books picked up while they were free or on sale, but I don’t think I had actually read anything by her before. This was just something that made me make grabby hands at my NetGalley dashboard reading the description, and I knew I wanted to read it now versus adding another book to that folder. This book was hot. I mean, the books I review here always are, so it’s not something I even mention most of the time. But this was one of the rare […]
