7 Ways to Make Your ARC Pile Less Overwhelming

The hardest and most frustrating lesson to learn as a book blogger is how many books you can realistically read. Here’s how my first few months of book blogging went: I didn’t have much going on outside of work, so I pretty much read from 7pm until the time I went to bed. I was reading a few books per week, but a lot were rereads since I couldn’t always afford to buy new books. But then, omg! I had my regular TBR pile. But then a few authors start asking me to review their books, and aaaah, they look good! […]

Review: Beautiful Boss by Christina Lauren

Review: This was an intensely emotional read for me. Tears the whole time! Not sad tears or even happy tears all the time, just…intensity tears. Beautiful Bastard is one of my all-time favorite series. My reading tastes and preferences have changed a lot since I first read Beautiful Bastard in 2013. In fact, it’s just starting to occur to me that I don’t even read books by most of the authors who were my favorites back then. But Christina Lauren, and this series, are still at the top of my “love” list. And while I loved the first two books, […]

Bzzz, bzzz, bzzz! That’s a buzzer, by the way. Because this month’s Write On Review-a-Thon is now over! How’s your to-do list looking? Mine’s incomplete, but that means it looks normal. 😛 I got 2/3 of my reviews written, and one of the blog posts fully scheduled. Not too shabby! And as always, I got distracted and got a lot of work done on something low-priority. In this case it’s a big ole blog post coming soon To share your progress with us, add yourself to the linkup below with a link to your list & progress for this month’s challenge. […]

The Weekly Write-Up: That Time I Went to Beyonce Class

The Weekly Write-Up is where I talk about what’s gone on in the past 168 hours, both on the blog and off. Jump to: It’s My Life On the Blog Write On Review-a-Thon Book Bumblings It’s My Life Guys. If you have shown up here before, you know who my queen is. And she slaaaays. Yes, she’s Beyonce. Ever since the days of Writings on the Wall, I’ve watched her videos obsessively and, since I’m a dancer at heart, tried to learn the choreography. But I’m not great at teaching it to myself, because she’s Beyonce and I’m Brittany – […]

Well, well, well. This month went by fast! I haven’t been doing that much reviewing (or reading) lately. Chalk it up to winter blues (so. many. naps.) and busy jobs. I’m hoping to get a lot done, since I’ve kind of let things pile up. I’d been soooo good lately, with like a 90% NetGalley ratio. Imma try to get back to that. This Month’s Review-a-Thon The review-a-thon takes place on the last weekend of each month. Signups are posted about a week ahead of time, we’ll review our hearts out from Friday to Sunday, and the wrap-up post will be posted on […]

Review: The Consequence of Seduction by Rachel Van Dyken

Review: Oh, Reid. What Grandma did to you… Once again, this series toed the line between ridiculous and too ridiculous so well. Aaaaand it had Broadway, which makes everything better. I had no idea this Phantom of the Opera fantasy was a thing, and I kind of love it. I mean, I knew Leslie Knope loved him: But I didn’t realize it was other people, too. She also thinks Ben Wyatt has an elf butt…and likes it. So I don’t always relate to her turn-ons. Back to the main point (which relates pretty well to Leslie Knope, actually), this book […]

The Weekly Write-Up: Beyonce Bowl 2.0

The Weekly Write-Up is where I talk about what’s gone on in the past 168 hours, both on the blog and off. Jump to: It’s My Life On the Blog Links I Lurve Book Bumblings It’s My Life So, it’s been awhile. Let me catch you up. I’ve still been trying to focus on my freelance business as much as possible to get my medical bills paid and start rebuilding my savings. That means less time for reading and book blogging, sadly. I’m also taking time off of some other projects that really excited me, so I’m kind of burnt out […]

Review: Happily Ever Ninja by Penny Reid

Review: One thing I really love about this book is that I feel weird calling it a romance. Is it about a romantic relationship? Yes. But is it about the romantic aspects of that relationship? Not usually. It’s about all the other stuff, the messy stuff that you don’t get in romances because it makes the fairytale less perfect. And I’m all for the fairy tale. I actually still prefer that over realistic any day. But it was a cool change of pace to add in now and then. This was about the passive aggressive arguing, the aggressive arguing, the sadness, […]
