I really enjoyed the first book in the Broken Men Chronicles, Once Written, Twice Shy, a lot, but felt the heartbreak in that bummed me out. I can take a lot of sadness in a book, but prefer more lighthearted stuff. I cry easily and mostly read around other people, so sad books are bad, haha. So let me start this review by saying this book is not like that. Almost Forgotten was great! I can’t wait to read Play Me to Infinity after this. Second-chance love stories are probably one of my top three favorite tropes, and this one didn’t disappoint. […]
Recommended for: People who like reading about friends becoming more, ridiculous comedy fans (think people named Barry Derry), banter fiends. Oh, the banter… My Review: Oh, Wallbanger and Mink Nightie Girl, how I missed thee. Excuse me, I need to catch my breath. Either from panting or cracking up. Because I was always doing one of the two while reading Rusty Nailed. Alice Clayton, you never disappoint! Wallbanger is one of those books that I reread at least once every few months. And every reread, I find more things that I find highlight-worthy. At this point, the entire book is highlighted. […]
My Review: Squee! This is going to be an incoherent review. Very incoherent. Because ALL THE FEELS about Neanderthal Marries Human and anything Knitting in the City.. My name is Brittany, and I’m a Penny Reid groupie. I am a Shark of Awesome. I’ve also been having a BLAST rereading the first book, Neanderthal Seeks Human, in the Facebook read-along. This book went live on Amazon early, and I found out at work, and waiting until I got home to start it was TORTURE. So first, let’s talk order. This is book 1.5 in the Knitting in the City series, […]
As of today, the following books are on sale on Amazon. If the day the deal ends is listed on its Amazon page, I’ll note that here. But otherwise, I haven’t a clue…so get ’em while they’re hot! How did I find these? I subscribe to a few newsletters that email you a list of books that are free or on sale. It’s great. Even though I usually end up buying more books that way, I still probably save because books on my wish list are frequently listed, and I know to buy them sooner rather than later. You can sign up for […]
My Review: I realized too late that I probably should have read Very Wicked Things before I read Very Wicked Beginnings. I thought it was simply the second in the series, not a prequel that was published after the second book. #Oopsie. However, now that I’m looking, I’m still really confused. In some places it lists the two books as Briarcrest Academy #2 and #3, and elsewhere #1.5 and #2. So I guess it’s an easy mistake to make. Plus, it was on sale for the great price of $0.00 and I’m still waiting on a loan for Very Wicked […]
Once this blog is more substantial and I have more posts on here, one thing will become abundantly clear: Christina Lauren books are my everything. They are my favorites. I want to be their BFF. If you’re judging me, I’m assuming it’s just because you haven’t read any of their books. The Beautiful Bastard series is one I recommend to every person I meet that has ever enjoyed a romance book. (Sidebar: my sister calls me a media pusher…always telling people what to read, watch listen to, etc. She says it’s usually annoying.) I don’t take offense if I recommend a […]
My Review: The thing I liked most about this book was the length. I started it last night shortly before I went to bed. I have a habit of getting sucked into a book late on a weekend night and staying up until I finished it. Luckily, that was only an hour and a half in this case. So I actually got some sleep. Although I did get sucked into this book, it left me feeling unsatisfied in the end. Don’t you hate that? So basically, Iris approaches Alasdair at the gym one day, leaves with him, and they quickly […]
