Welcome to another late day of #BookBlogWriMo! I’m sorry again! Today we’re looking at bookshelves.
Sorry for being late again! Being sick sucks. I just want to sleep and drink chocolate milk.
But first, let me take a #shelfie.
At first, I thought a cute hashtag would be #ShowMeYourShelves because you could sing it to the tune of “Teeth” by Lady Gaga. Then I read about a marketing campaign by a bookstore or something that had people take a #sheflie. I loved it, so I’m gonna use both.
As you can see, the bookshelves at my apartment are kind of pathetic.
There’s a few reasons for this:
- I’m mostly an ebook reader nowadays. I’ve been trying to donate/sell books and replace them with an ebook copy. I do this as they go on sale or I have Amazon gift cards.
- I have a lot of older books from college and earlier at my parent’s house.
- I moved a few months ago, and am hopefully moving again by Spring. So I tried to unpack as little as possible back in July. The books pictures are ones I’ve gotten since July.
- I don’t buy hardcover or paperback books anymore. All the fiction books are from giveaways. All of the business books were sent to me as prizes or included in goodie bags from conferences the authors spoke at. Hey, I’d rather read a free paperback over a $10 ebook.
A bit about the organization:
I’m anal retentive and like to alphabetize things. But I also don’t like mixing fiction and business, so I have Eric from Happy Feet 2 dividing them for me. He is one of my ten penguins. Just call me Mr. Popper. His father, Mumble, divides some of my DVDs from my roommate’s DVDs.
