About Garrett:

Carolina Cold Fury star Garrett Samuelson never wants to miss out on a single minute of fun. Whether he’s playing hockey, hanging out with friends, or walking the red carpet with a new date on his arm, he lives every day to the fullest.

When he meets Olivia Case, he sees someone who’s exactly his type—confident, sexy, smart...his next fling. But the more he pursues her, the more Garrett shares a side of himself that other women don’t normally get to see.

Olivia has been keeping a secret. While Garrett lives for the next thrill, Olivia’s not sure she’ll live to see the next day. She’s undergoing treatment for some serious medical issues, and she doesn’t have time for a relationship with no guarantees—especially one with a hot-as-sin womanizer who won’t take no for an answer.

But as she gets to know the real Garrett, Olivia can’t help falling for him...hard. To reveal the truth would mean risking everything—but you can’t score without taking the tough shots.

My Review:

I read this book months ago and it’s SUCKED not being able to talk about it, but I wanted to wait to post my review until we were closer to it being published. Now, it’s coming out this month and I’m so excited for you all!

WOW. Was not expecting such an intense conflict! Not that Alex was particularly light, what with the stuff about addiction, abuse, and neglect. But Garrett was so easygoing and fun in that book, that you I was expecting this book to not be so heavy. Welp, I assumed, and then I made an ass of myself by sobbing and sobbing on the NYC subway.

Another thing: I was totally expecting steamy sex, but not so intimate and emotional. I despise the term ‘making love’ so effing hard. But like, I can’t not use it to describe Garrett and Olivia’s sessions between the sheets. As much as I may hate myself for it.

But that didn’t mean it wasn’t also steamy as fuck, and that’s language I’m more comfortable using. 😛

Now, about Olivia. Good luck not falling in love with her immediately. I’m kind of talking to Garrett, but I’m also talking about anyone reading this book thinking, “Screw Olivia, Garrett is going to be MINE.” Unless you’re a much better person than I am, you’re going to want to hate Olivia, because it’s clear she’s going to get the man you want.

And the man he becomes once he’s met Olivia is even better than the guy we saw in the first Cold Fury book. Such a sweet guy. I ‘oohed’ and ‘awwed’ all up in this joint.

This book was not at all what I expected and it just made me even more excited for the next book in the series.

  1. another great review. LOL you make me laugh. I’ve always felt the need to tone down my thoughts. You inspire me to just say it as I would in person. Love it!

    • Bree, your comments always make my day! I was just talking with someone about how important it is to have personality in your reviews. I think I kind of take it to the extreme. 🙂
