Review: Nuts by Alice Clayton

Review: I’m so sorry, Simon Wallbanger. I cheated on you. Well, I’ve done that before. Whoa boy, have I done that before, and I’m not even sorry. With the other men in your series. But I was keeping it in the family, you know? Which either makes it better or worse, I’m not sure… But now, no. And it’s not just a fling. It’s real and it’s deep (hehe). Lord do I worship Alice Clayton. And for good reason. I’ve still been a Will and Grace fan for too long and have to change the names of Jack and Grace […]

#TBT Review: Manwhore by Katy Evans

Review: This is kind of a mixed one for me. Normally, I usually use #ThrowbackThursday reviews to highlight my faves. But while reading Ms. Manwhore, I realized that I hardly remembered the first two books in the series. Like, to the point that I hadn’t even realized I never finished Manwhore +1. That’s bad. For me, that’s extremely rare. So I went back and started rereading the series and just wanna review as I go! I read both books in the series in one weekend, which obviously meant I sacrificed sleep for reading. So that might have something to do with […]

Review: Ms. Manwhore by Katy Evans

Review: Recommended for: Chi-town lovers and The Newsroom bingewatchers Short book (novella) = short review. I have mixed feelings about this. One the one hand, I’m never one to dislike extra bits & pieces of a favorite series. And I loved the Manwhore books. (Fun fact: it turns out I only read like 75% of Manwhore +1 before having to put it down for an ARC coming out soon. I forgot about this until I was halfway through this book and realized I spoiled myself [ick, that sounds gross]. As soon as I realized, I went back and finished book […]

Review: Playing with Fire by Kate Meader

Review: Recommended for: Scandal fans (especially #TeamOlitz). I’m not sure why, but I feel under-the-surface similarities between them and this couple. Loved this! Even more than the first book in the series. In Flirting with Fire, I loved the chemistry, the relationship, and Luke on his own. But I didn’t love Kinsey on her own – mostly just as part of “Luke and Kinsey.” In Playing with Fire, I loved both main characters on their own as much as I loved them together. Alex reminded me of someone who was just born to be Wonder Woman for Halloween…or in real life. 😛 […]

Review: Dirty Talk by Megan Erickson

Review: Dirty Talk by Megan Erickson

Review: First of all, I cannot for the life of me figure out if I’ve read Dirty Thoughts and it’s driving. me. crazy. I thought I had, and that it was how I’d heard of this series. But then when I downloaded this I noticed there were no other Megan Erickson books in the alphabetical “Dirty” area of my Kindle (sidebar: I have a lot of books whose title start with the word ‘dirty’…). Hmmm. Maybe I hadn’t read it? But then we start the book and Cal and Jenna feel really familiar and I even vividly remember a scene that a friend […]

Review: Dark Wild Night by Christina Lauren

Review: As much as I loved the rest of the series so far, Dark Wild Night is definitely my favorite so far. I find it kind of funny that: Book #3 was my favorite (so far, at least) for both Wild Seasons and the Beautiful series. Book #3 of each series featured “nerd love” couples. Book #3 of each series featured girls I could relate to. (Although I still find it creepy how much I have in common with Hanna!) And even before I made those connections, one of the reasons I loved this book more than the others was that the love […]

Review: Ryker by Sawyer Bennett

Review: So, I feel like we knew more about Ryker going into his book than we did for any of the other guys. Alex kind of focused more on Sutton’s friends, than Alex’s, so we didn’t know much about Garrett or Zack from that book. And in those two, you just find out bits and pieces for the most part. But since Zack and Ryker had that pretty deep heart-to-heart in book #3, you know about Ryker before his book. And I think that really helped establish the connection. We were already invested in him from page 1. (And if I […]

Review: Chasing Mr. Wrong by Joya Ryan

Review: Recommended for: Gilmore Girls fans and anyone else that gets pulled in by small town charm. I know I’ve said this in other reviews, hell – I even said it in Chasing Desire, but Brazen Entangled never disappoints for me. I first discovered them with Wrong Bed, Right Guy in summer 2012 when I first started reading contemporary romance. I have read them very regularly ever since. And I’ve never legit disliked one. The worst it’s ever gotten is straddling the line between ‘yay’ and ‘meh,’ never spending too much time in ‘meh’ territory. I again loved the small town […]

Review: Under My Skin by J. Kenner

Review: Under My Skin by J. Kenner

Review: So, this series kind of devolved for me. I really liked Say My Name, but then On My Knees kind of felt like “filler.” And in this book, it felt like Nikki and Damien 2.0 – like reusing stories and changing the names and some details. I felt the big twist was so obvious from the start anyway.  For it to be dragged out for so long started to get boring. So I didn’t even get the satisfaction of closure on that topic. This book just really didn’t do much. I’m actually liking Damien more than in his own books. Whenever […]

Review: Find Me by Laurelin Paige

Review: I liked this book a lot. On its own it would have been 4 stars. But I feel like it needs to be part of/related to Free Me – and I just felt so differently about each of them. With Free Me, I was actually nervous to read it and wasn’t sure if I liked it. I loved it. For that reason, I was expecting to love Find Me. But for some reason, I just felt this disconnect between the two books. Here’s where my feelings get confusing, because there was nothing I disliked about it. I still loved the chemistry between J.C. and […]
